About Volkskrant OOG: The International Four Days Marches Nijmegen Game

The world’s biggest walking event: the International Four Days Marches Nijmegen. In 2006, the event was cancelled after day one due to extreme heat. Many participants got unwell, two people died. Proper facilities along the route and thoroughly prepared walkers proved to be vital. People should drink plenty of water, but not too much, carry suitable clothes, be prepared for all types of weather, eat well, and most of all, people should be motivated.

Until the fall of 2009, Volkskrant OOG was an online visual platform of Dutch daily newspaper De Volkskrant. Every week, artists created a response to news in image and/or sound. The selection of artists consists of a diverse and international group of renowned artists.

In this game, you place the facilities along the route, and help the walkers finish safely.
