About me

In 2005 I graduated at ArtEZ Arnhem Free art department. For half a year, I studied animation at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Ghent (KASK) as an Erasmus exchange student.

Before that, I graduated as art therapist and worked for six years in services for the disabled and in psychiatry. This affected my work substantively; a love for social and community issues arose.

I founded Floor Adams Animation/Illustration in 2007. I have since then worked with VARA/NPS, KRO/RKK, Volkskrant, the Government, MTV Networks, Nuon, and various documentary makers. My own work has been exhibited in several museums, galleries, exhibition spaces and (animated) film festivals.

In 2009 I received a starter grant from the Dutch Fund for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture, and in 2011 I was awarded the Cultural Encouragement Prize of the City of Nijmegen.

Besides my own work, I have given animation courses, workshops and classes at various schools, cultural institutions and at my studio. Since 2008 I teach animation classes at the UNIT Academy, an arts program that focuses specifically on young people with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, and give animation lessons to children / young people with autism on an individual basis. With some regularity I give presentations about my work. I have been involved as an external judge in the finals of the KASK Animation Master and I am part of the Animated Shorts selection committee for Go Short - International Short Film Festival Nijmegen.
