About me
With a background working in psychiatry and institutions for mentally disabled people, Floor Adams went on to pursue her own creative ambitions and studied Fine Arts at the ArtEZ Institute of the Arts and Animation at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Ghent (KASK).
After graduation she worked on various commissions like Dutch television, MTV, the Government of the Netherlands and museums/exhibitions. She taught animation and served on the selection committee of Go Short International Short Film Festival.
Her interest in psychology and human behavior resulted in various independent works, including the mid-length animated short Mind My Mind (2019) which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival (New York) and traveled to 60+ festivals. The film won 30+ awards at festivals including Stuttgart International Animation Film Festival, Indy Shorts, Cinanima and Anima Brussels. Mind My Mind was shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short and was the first autonomously released short film in the Netherlands, drawing over 25.000 visitors to Dutch cinemas.
In 2019 Floor founded production house Curious Wolf, aiming to facilitate engaging film productions and collaborations. For more information, please visit: curiouswolf.productions
Besides writing and directing, Floor is a script coach for projects supported by the Netherlands Film Fund and advisor at the Flemish Audiovisual Fund (BE). She received the Dutch Directors Award for her work on Mind My Mind.
